MWLP have been working in partnership with local high schools and TAFE colleges for more than twenty years to facilitate Work Placements for HSC VET, BEC and TAFE Launchpad courses.
We understand that educators are time poor and we want to help you.
Our core business is the organisation of Work Placements for your students.
We currently have over 450 local businesses who host Work Placement students across all courses throughout the year.
Your Work Placement Coordinator will send offers for your classes on a regular basis – these offers have been carefully selected to help your students get the most out of their Work Placement experience.
If you have a student who needs a different placement than what is offered they are welcome to find their own and we can facilitate the process. Just get them to complete the form below and we will take it from there.
A great resource for teachers and students is the Go2workplacement site.
This program runs the students through a set of activities that gets then ready for Work Placement (Work Readiness) – at the end of the program they can print off a certificate that shows they are work ready.
We have created a comprehensive Teachers Reference Guide for all new or existing VET Coordinators and Teachers to assist you in the important processes around the Work Placement Program.
Student Work Placement Readiness Talks – during class or assembly
We can come out and speak with your students prior to their Work Placement to provide more information about how to get ready for placement, etc.
Student & Parent Work Placement Readiness Talks – during Subject Selection Nights/Career Days at School
We want to connect with parents from your school so they understand the complexities of Work Placement. It also gives us an opportunity to source new host employers through parents who may have their own businesses that could host students.
Training for new and existing VET Coordinators or Teachers.
We want you to get the most out of Pathways for your students Work Placement – we can provide further training on the program if required.
MWLP Reference Group Meetings
We arrange regular meetings for all VET Coordinators & Teachers in our region to discuss the Work Placement program and provide you with an opportunity to provide feedback. If required, we can arrange industry specific speakers to attend these meetings to answer any questions you may have.
Connection with Industry and Jobs for Students
We can send you information about apprenticeships, traineeships and other job opportunities from our industry contacts for you to pass onto your students.
Matching Service for Special Needs Students with appropriate Hosts
We offer a matching service for students with special needs to certain hosts – we take the time to know the hosts and work with them to find appropriate work placements.

“The MWLP Work Placement program is absolutely fantastic. MWLP has a wonderful professional team who support our school with excellent work placement opportunities. Placements are arranged and delivered in a timely manner. Communication is swift and prompt. Staff are always happy to help.
Our students find the process easy to fit in with and feel supported by MWLP and Host Employers. Several of our students have found immediate careers and others have been asked to join their Host Employer’s once they complete their schooling. One student this year has been asked to work with their Host Employer during the school holiday breaks.
MWLP have also worked with some of our students with career management, transition from school to work and presentations on the importance and process of work placement. Our students have been involved in the Youth’Ank Hubs during work placement and they learn so much about being part of a growing business and all the facets of building a business along the way helping those less fortunate than themselves.
As a VET Coordinator I would be lost without this wonderful supportive business and the help and support they provide me.”
“Over the many years that I have worked with MWLP, my ID&T students have always come back with positive stories from work placement.
They enjoyed the IT environments and were grateful that there were experienced IT professionals guiding and teaching them throughout the week.
They told me that the theory and practice from class had suddenly melded and made their course a lot clearer.”
