We are pleased to announce the following students (listed alphabetically by surname) have been selected as a finalist for the 2014 ‘Work Placement Student of the Year Award’:
- Tayla Ditton from Camden High School – nominated by LJ Hooker Camden
- Carlie Elfar from Picton High School – nominated by LJ Hooker Camden
- Brandon Snook from John Therry Catholic High School – nominated by John Warby Public School
These students have been selected as a result of their Host Employer nominating them for the Honour Roll at the end of their work placement. Over the past 12 months, we have placed over 2,600 students into work placement – 96 students were nominated by their host employers for being outstanding whilst on work placement. From these 96 students being eligible for the award, MWLP staff members identified them as one of a shortlist of twenty students and with feedback provided by their teachers were then selected as one of the three finalists.
The winner will be announced at the 2014 MG My Gateway Apprentice & Trainee Awards on 21 November. Each of the finalists will be invited to attend the awards, along with a representative from their school and their host employer.
We are very proud and excited to be assisting students with the opportunities available to them through the Honour Roll and look forward to hearing the winner being announced in November.
