Part of what MWLP does is organise the placement of some 3,000 HSC students into Macarthur workplaces every year. These outstanding businesses take on students for many different reasons but they all do it on a voluntary basis.
To demonstrate our appreciation, MWLP, selects a Business of the Month (based on student feedback) that wins some terrific prizes and media exposure through C91.3fm and the Macarthur Chronicle.
And now thanks to our much valued new sponsor, United Cinemas Narellan, winners will receive Grand Seating Movie Passes each month.
United Cinemas has been entertaining the masses in the Sydney region for over 20 years. It all started in Collaroy in 1989 followed by cinemas at Avalon, Warriewood, Rockingham and with much anticipation the eight cinema complex at Narellan. Narellan is now the biggest cinema in the United Group.
Roy Mustaca, CEO and owner of United Cinemas saw the need for a major entertainment complex due to the increasing youth population in the Narellan and Camden areas. The cinema opened in January 2008 and they currently hire approximately 40 young people.
Narellan Cinema Manager, Saad Soubra (pictured above with MWLP’s Sue Scobie) jumped at the opportunity to be involved with MWLP. “We are delighted to be supporting Macarthur businesses and, in turn, the future generation of employers and employees. We also offer work placement to MWLP students so we know how rewarding it can be” Saad said.
United Cinemas Narellan has demonstrated a wonderful willingness to not only entertain Macarthur’s youth but also employ them and support their transition outcomes as well.
We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
