MWLP Supports Business Services Implementation Day

Nov 13, 2015

Lyn Kenny, Senior Pathways Officer from Public Schools NSW Ultimo, has thanked MWLP’s Training & Industry Liaison Co-ordinator, Janelle Henson, for her support of the recent Business Services Implementation Day for VET teachers.

Janelle assisted by linking the Department of Education with local business and industry representatives from NRMA and MG My Gateway to assist with assessment validation and to obtain direct industry input for teachers delivering the Business Services HSC course.  Janelle commented “Rebecca Kerin (NRMA) and Emma Taylor (MG My Gateway) were both able to draw on their extensive backgrounds in business to provide valuable feedback and suggestions on the assessment tasks, set by teachers for their students, as part of the course.  This input was greatly appreciated.”

Both organisations also host High School students for one week’s Work Placement throughout the year, providing them with industry experience to support what is learnt in the classroom.

Emma had a number of full-time Business Administration, Library and other Traineeship positions available for 2016, which she distributed to teachers for them to pass onto their students.

This was done as part of the Industry Links project that Janelle is leading for MWLP.
