Magdalene Students Win Best Innovation at National Finals

Apr 5, 2013

Falcon Racing, a team of five Year 9 students from Magdalene Catholic High School, recently participated in the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge.

Students from Years 7 to 12 form teams to design, build, analyse, manufacture, test and race miniature formula 1 cars which reach speeds of 80km/h. This project connects students to the engineering industry and makes learning relevant and fun.

Falcon Racing were so successful, they made it to the National Finals in Melbourne in February this year and won Best Innovation in the Development Class.

This event showcases students work in Engineering, Manufacture, Innovation, Marketing, Business Documentation and Presentation throughout three days of competition.

MWLP has been a sponsor since the Hub in Macarthur was established in 2008, along with Broens, Nepean Engineering and MG My Gateway,

This kind of interactive learning will hopefully lead to real growth in the local industry with students choosing related careers in the future.
