Macarthur Expo Supports Young People

Jun 28, 2013

The recent Macarthur Jobs and Training Expo held at The Cube was a tremendous success with over 200 students present.

Attendees were given the opportunity to link with over 65 exhibitors and attend a series of three seminars.

· The first covered vital information on how to get an Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
· An employer then gave students an insight into what is expected of employees, and
· Students also learnt first-hand from Sadek Saleh, former Macarthur student and now a locally employed Apprentice Chef, about his experiences. His motivational talk taught them that if they want to succeed they should always do their best, work hard and follow their dreams.

The Macarthur Jobs and Training Committee work to assist people into training and employment, including helping young people while still at school.

The Partnership has provided opportunities such as the Expo to assist students in the transition from school to work more successfully.

Partners include MTC – Social Services, MTC – Youth Connections, MACROC, South Western Sydney Business Enterprise Centre, Max Employment, Ability Options, DEEWR and MWLP Partnership Brokers.
